Feds sue 6 websites for offering free comic books

May 31, 2010

— Six websites run by a Florida man violated federal copyright laws by allowing visitors to view Batman and other comic books for free without permission from the publishers or authors, government lawyers charge in a federal lawsuit.

ComicBooksFree.com, HTMLcomics.com, and PlayboyMonthly.com were among the domain names run by Gregory Steven Hart doing business as Database Engineers Inc. located in Tampa, according to the lawsuit filed Thursday in Tampa federal court.

There is no free reading as far as the Majors go. They want every penny.

I sure the artist doesn’t want the Mutant Turtle comparisons, but I do rem a hamster comic in the 1980’s.

I can see this one being picked up by kids. The emphasis is on fun. In fact I saw a shoe with the furry hero on it.

A book is found. Dreams or are they nightmares.

A fire.

Just what is happening?

The art blends photo and drawing to a unique perspective that I love.

RIP Frank Frazetta

May 16, 2010

Frank Frazetta, an illustrator of comic books, movie posters and paperback book covers, whose visions of muscle-bound men fighting with swords and axes to defend scantily dressed women helped define fantasy heroes like Conan, Tarzan and John Carter of Mars, died Monday in Fort Myers, Fla. He was 82.

Dreadlocks “War of the Gods” Chapter1

The cover artist is not the interior artist and it sufferes some for the rawness like the early Justice Machines. It doesn’t really start with an orgin issue so we find the mane tressed hero duking it out w some voodoo master and his scepter of power.

Dreadlocks is guided by the Gods of Alkebulan (Africa) and born as a sacrificial lamb to the Gods of ancient Alkebulan. Dreadlocks has no physical sight for the Gods are his guiding light from within his third eye (spirit/conscious). He is a revolutionary hero based in the urban world. His primary task is bringing Ma’at (universal order, justice and righteousness) to the lost tribes of Alkebulan. Dreadlocks is a hero for the people. He serves only the Gods/ancestors that walked before him.

The first issue finds a father and his son and daughter driving a semi west. People are dead all over. Are there zombies of evil? No, the evil is the typical criminal type. I like the pace and artwork. Too bad the site does not have a email reminder. I hope they do well.
