Two people were arrested in connection with a Temecula burglary Monday afternoon after they tried to sell some of the stolen goods to a local shop, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported.

Coins, jewelry and other collectables were stolen in from a home in the 41000 block of Ashburn Road in Temecula, authorities said in a news release. The victim notified several local coin, jewelry and pawn shops in Temecula of the theft.

About 3:15 p.m. Monday, two male juveniles and a 19-year-old Encinitas man attempted to sell some of the items at All Valley Coin and Jewelry in Temecula. Store employees recognized the items from a list the victim had given them and called authorities, the news release said.

One of the juveniles was released after authorities determined he was not involved in any crime. The second juvenile was arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and conspiracy.
